“Logistics DX Conference” is going to be held by eighteen (18) digital service providers in the logistics industry in August.

Aiming to form a platform for social optimization of logistics by building a common interface between each logistics system.

AIOI Systems Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Yutaka Yoshino, President; hereinafter “AIOI”) develops, manufactures, and sells logistics systems that support logistics and manufacturing DX. The Logistics DX Conference, a co-hosted seminar by 18 logistics digital service providers, will be held on Friday, August 23, at 10:00 a.m.

This is the second “Logistics DX Conference” held on August 24, 2023. One year has passed since the last time six companies joined hands to solve the logistics Year 2024 problem in Japan, and the number of participating companies has tripled in size, with special guests scheduled to deliver an even more heated discussion.

■Background and Overview of the Logistics DX Conference

In the logistics industry, where shippers (originating and destination shippers) and logistics providers (3rd Party Logistics companies, warehousing companies, and transportation companies) work together to transport goods, it is vital to maximize the use of limited logistics resources (vehicles, warehouses, and people) throughout society. However, the reality is that there are multiple individual digital services for each process, and the current situation still relies heavily on analog for upstream and downstream information transfer, so collaboration for maximum utilization is limited.

Three months have passed since April 2024, and there is no time to wait for measures to solve various issues such as labor shortages. In this situation, it is necessary to take measures to ensure competition among digital services and freedom of system selection on the user side, and to “connect” systems in each process.

In the previous panel discussion, as the first step in this effort, the panelists discussed the limitations of the current individual optimization (digitalization of a single company, single location, and single process) and their visions of a future in which each system is connected as general trend. This time, we will present “details” and case studies of actual linkage between multiple systems, along with comments from user companies. As in the previous session, Mr. Akazawa, Editor-in-Chief of LOGISTICS TODAY, will serve as the main moderator.

It is clear that digitalization is inevitable as a countermeasure to the logistics crisis that is becoming more and more critical. Furthermore, in order to solve the fundamental issues in the logistics field, it is essential for digital service providers to form a platform where anyone can access the logistics resources of society by ensuring inter-system collaboration as a “cooperative area”. This requires the participation of more digital service providers, user companies (shippers and logistics companies), government agencies, and industry associations.

We hope you will watch this event and consider participating in the next one.

■”Pick to Light System” to be introduced at the Logistics DX Conference

Pick to Light System is a support system for picking and sorting operations in distribution warehouses and factories. Light Modules are installed on storage shelves to light up lamps and guide operators with light and sound. With the increasing demand for a wide variety of products in small quantities and short delivery times, picking operation has become more complex, resulting in lower work efficiency and more human errors. Especially in these days when it is difficult to secure human resources, reducing the workload of operators and improving production efficiency are important issues. Therefore, operation instructions using Pick to Light System can simplify and standardize operation compared to the operation using written instructions, reduce variation in operation quality, and contribute to labor and manpower savings.

AIOI Systems supplies products that support logistics and manufacturing DX worldwide. As a pioneer in digital picking systems, the company supplies its products to 73 countries around the world and boasts the No. 1 installation record.

At this year’s Logistics DX Conference, we will introduce the latest case studies of Pick to Light System.
